Rare 1940s Playdeck Card Set Goes for $7 at Mammaz’s Ephemera Show
In the recently-concluded live auction hosted by mammaz on Whatnot, a rare 1940s Christmas playdeck card set found a new home for $7. The set features card companions in the form of a deer, a fun addition to any holiday collection or display.
According to the seller’s commentary during the live auction, the deer is “large” and of a “vintage style.” The faux leather-style top on the card may have caught viewers’ eyes, as five bidders competed for the chance to own it. In the end, lesliepet took home the prize with a winning bid of $7, thanking the seller for the opportunity.
Viewers tuned in from around the world to join the auction, but had a few questions for the seller near the end. One viewer asked about the possibility of decorating the card, while another inquired about the whereabouts of some pink buildings mentioned in a bin. Despite the brief pause in the action, the auction quickly picked back up, and the set was sold in a swift and friendly transaction.
