During a recent Whatnot live show featuring gobigplants’ Plants & Garden collection, a single plant caught the eye of viewer leavingfocus69. The plant, part of the “Rehab on Screen” lot, sold for $1 after a single bid.
The host, gobigplants, mentioned while selling this particular plant, “#23,” that most in the lot have just one leaf, but this one looked particularly good, despite it having “one bad leaf.” As the show progressed, viewers engaged in conversation, sharing their own experiences with plant care. Another viewer credited gobigplants with advice on successful seed scratch and smoke scarification for mimosa seeds, while others discussed their preferred potting mixes, with some swearing by Root RIOTS, and others preferring fluval and perlite.
This sale highlights the unique nature of Whatnot’s live auction format. While the $1 sale might seem unexpected, it’s clear that losingfocus69 appreciated the plant’s quality and was willing to pay the minimum ask. For the seller, gobigplants, every sale brings another chance to share their expertise and showcase their collection.
