Last week on Whatnot, a live auction caught the attention of gamers and collectors alike with the sale of a unique tabletop game. The #313 EPOCH Games – Super Mario Piranha Plant Escape Tabletop Game sold for a tidy $11.00 USD to bidder nidkap. This press-your-luck game, featuring the fearsome Piranha Plant from the beloved Super Mario series, seems to have struck a chord with at least 11 interested bidders, with the high price matching the final sale. While we can only speculate on the reason for the particular enthusiasm, it’s possible that the item’s nostalgic value and the unique selling description from the auctioneer themselves – who also touted other interesting items, including foldable business keyboards and bone conduction headphones – contributed to the bid frenzy.
