“Unruly Houseplant Hysteria for $5!”
Abtropics’ Whatnot live show drew some enthusiastic plant enthusiasts, including top bidder, shellebellemer, who snagged this gorgeous Apoballis acuminatissima Lavallaei #2 for just $5. The seller’s charming commentary provided some delightfully entertaining insight into their plants’ care – or, perhaps more accurately, their carelessness? “These literally just let them dry out, water them, water them, you’re good to go,” the seller joked.
Meanwhile, viewers shared their own plant-parenting triumphs and tribulations in the chat. One user confessed to supporting each of their mottled dragon stems individually, while another was distracted from their plants by an Ohio State vs. Texas football game. As the show came to a close, some viewers were joking about their nocturnal plant behaviors, with one quipping, “Mine turn off at 11 and I know when o witness them turn off, it’s past my bed time!” Despite the chaos, at least one lucky bidder, shellebellemer, will be bringing this stunning Apoballis acuminatissima Lavallaei #2 home to provide a touch of tropical beauty to their indoor space.
