Rare Tissue Culture Plant Scores 5.00 USD in Whatnot Auction

The Whatnot community came together to bid on unique items during the recent Plants & Garden live show, and one item caught our eye: a Speed run tissue culture red 1-50 #27. This rare, highly-coveted plant sold for a impressive 5.00 USD after just five bids. The winning bidder, aceeno, swooped in at the last minute, securing their new addition.

Seller ppd_puzzlepiecedad has clearly found a hit with this particular variety, with multiple sales during the show. Perhaps one day these tissue culture plants will be all the rage at Great Wolf Lodge – who knows? The comments in the live show were a lively mix of plant enthusiasts, buyers, and Whatnot community members swapping stories and advice. One bidder even had a humorous take on their missed chance at a Choco: “I’m happy with any item for my buyers but if I have a wish and I don’t get to buy a Choco today… lol.” Meanwhile, others were busy Googling plant identification tips, like this curious bidder: “Is the platinum pink princess a philodendron? Googling the difference in pink princess and platinum.” Regardless of the plant’s provenance, one thing is clear: this Whatnot live auction was a fun and exciting experience for all involved.
